Now that I have what looks like a very comprehensive list of IC chips used on various models of memory HERE: http://ramlist.ath.cx/ddr2/

THE EXAMPLES BELOW ARE JUST THAT, EXAMPLES. I am just gathering info, not making any recommendations.

D9 Fatbodies:
D9DQT = BT-3 the good stuff but no longer manufactured
D9DQW = BT-37E the good stuff (rumered better than DQT?)

I hear these next 2, the D9GMH and D9GKX are the new ones to be looking for
D9GMH = B6-3

mehhhhhhh!

Super leet thread!

I am now Eyeballing these since I missed the Crucial =(((

Ballistix C3
Buffalo FireStix

I am reading a few reviews and waiting for Dario approval =), then that's it I am getting my ram today, sick of waiting! and getting screwed!

Edit: Can't really see why the Bufalo has Cas5, under rated?Also the newegg review are not stellar for the Crucial, I blame the users. And Buffalo can be had 50cents cheaper on chiefvalue and Crucial a good 5$ =)

Dont put much faith in most newegg reviews. Most people that complained about their ram being DOA took 3 weeks to figure out that they needed to turn the mem voltage up from 1.8v to 1.9-2.0v. I would have to say when it come to computers, 75% of all newegg reviewers, couldnt find their own A**hole with both hands and a funnel. I mean how many DELL owners complained cause their ram wasnt detected right...snickers* heh

There are various steppings that yield various overclocking results. They all can run low latencies but they scale differently when it comes to high frequencies. So far I have encountered three different D9 steppings--D9CRZ, D9DQW, and D9DQT. D9CRZ is the lowest scaling fatbody D9 and reaches around 850MHz-900MHz. D9DQW comes in second and reaches around 900MHz-1000MHz. D9DQT is the best and overclocks the highest, easily breaking the 1GHz barrier.

These are DQW, older fat body...
I think the Firestix would be better!
