Which ddr3 dual channel

You looking for a pair of 2GB sticks? Or something else? What are your overclocking plans? What motherboard are you using? Consider checking their site for compatibility.

The G.Skill Ripjaws 1600 CAS9's (F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL) have been good to me. If you can afford it, step up to their CAS7's. Actually, price check both. For some reason I think I saw the CAS7's $5-$10 cheaper than the CAS9's recently, on NewEgg.

If you need to save some money step down to 1333MHz. The real world performance difference is debatable anyway.

Personally I just go to kingston.com and on the right you can you use the memory search to select your motherboard and it will give you a list of kingston memory that can be used to that motherboard. Of course this only gives you kingston memory that can be used, so if you are not wanting kingston memory then this won't help you.

Do NOT get any of these. These are 3 x 2GB sticks intended for the i7 9xx / 1366 motherboards. You either want 2 or 4 sticks. The most popular config is 2 x 2GB. Also for the P55 chipset / socket 1156, be sure your RAM is rated at 1.65V or less. Like the G.Skill I mentioned earlier.

Corsair dominator gt are madly expensive,and mushkin are good(im running 2gb 6400 now) if i could get some of them in the uk would be ok,it has to be a dual chan since P55 doesn't support triple channel

^ With all respect... why you buy a i7 that support tri-channel, to run memory in dual channel?. If you want a dual channel, buy an AMD X4 965 and save money.

Maybe the most popular is 2x2GB, but this configuration is popular when DDR2 and dual-channel was in the firts place, now DDR3 and tri-channel is the way to move. If you want, buy the DDR3 in dual-channel, but personally, I don't do it this.

Yes, to start i'm looking for 2x2gb.no overclocking plans yet,i want to get to know my system first.i will get the Maximus formula 3.
(i would have to check for ddr3 dual channel,P55 does not support triple channel,but it's all right.)
Actually i have checked the RipJaws earlier,but im not sure yet,i had a look at the Corsairs dominator,they look good(not the GT,too expensive)
im looking for some CAS 7 or 8,is that all right?
i will keep the 1333 Mhz in mind.

Saint 19, but how, the P55 chipset does not support a triple channel,and that i7 (8xx)belongs to the 1156 family.
Correct me if i'm wrong.
im trying to start with 4 gb,2x2gb.
I can't afford a x58, triple channel system.

You are correct. Your system does not support triple channel RAM.



There is a balance between latency and speed. I suggest reading these 2 articles:

The differences between each step up in RAM is often marginally noticeable, and outside of a benchmark it is difficult to say whether or not you would even notice the difference. And yet the cost difference adds up fast. The best advice I got from these forums was buy the best RAM that fits your budget, if you find yourself stretching things just to get 'better' RAM that's probably money better spent on other components.

I know what i want now, that memory latency guide is good,i will be looking for 1600Mhz and CAS8 :love: ,looks very stable,
The first time i read that guide i didn't quite get it, but now i have read it again,it helped me enough.
I just dont know what to get. is it true that the Dominator (CL8) was designed to match AMD systems?will it make a difference if i get it? i just hate bottlenecks and problems like that,so i want to match the speed with stability.if you know what i mean.

Thank you,but i need to look in pages from the UK,Scan and Overclock have good prices.
at the moment im in between Dominator and the Ripjaws
