Question Which DDR5...5600mhz CL28, or 6400mhz CL32?

Just looking to grab some decent DDR5 for a new build without going crazy. I can always upgrade later. There are a couple reasonably priced GSkill 2x16 kits available for the same price.

So...5600mhz CL28, or 6400mhz CL32.

This is on an AM5 board with a 7600x if it makes any difference.

I think the calculated latency is actually
the same on these...so maybe the faster kit?

6000mhz CL30 is the sweet spot for AM5. I've seen many reports of instability with higher speeds.

Thanks! I'll stick with the 5600/CL28 then for now. It's pretty cheap...can always upgrade that later once there is more stability.

Hey there,

For DDR5 frequency is key. The Primary timings do make a difference, but not in the same way as DDR4. Speed is much more relevant for DDR5.

What mobo are you running? Without knowing that, it's hard to tell.

Haha. The 6400 dude. If you add 6000 to 5600 later you're stuck at 5600.
