Hello Again
ABS Stratos Ruby Gaming PC - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X - GeForce RTX 4070 - 16GB DDR5 5600MHz - 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD - SR760X4070-2
  • Operating System: Windows 11 Home 64-bit
  • CPU Type: Ryzen 5 7000 Series
  • CPU Speed: 7600X (4.70GHz)
  • GPU/VGA Type: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070
  • Memory Capacity: 16GB DDR5
  • SSD: 1 TB PCIe
  • HDD: No
My previous CPU had a receptacle for an ethernet cable, but the new one, although there is a receptacle the connecting end won't fit. Could someone please recommend an adapter to accomodate the cable? The other end of the cable is connected to the modem and we use the phone line to communicate with my wife's pacemaker monitors.

Thanks very much for your assistance.

The arrow points to the Ethernet port, a standard RJ45 port that is the same on all motherboards.

Where are you trying to plug your cable into? Can you take a picture of your cable and post a image, you will have to upload it using a hosting site like Imgur

Where your arrow is pointing is exactly where I am trying to get the cable end to fit. It is a Cat 5 e cable which is RJ45 fitting - correct? Another ethernet cable goes from the WiFi router into the back of my current rig and the cable ends fit just fine in either place, just not to the back of the new machine.

I thought I wasn't placing the connector correctly, but that isn't the case. Forcing it will just break it.

Amazon sells USB connectors with what looks like an ethernet cable would fit, but I wanted to be sure, so I asked here. If you still need a picture of the current cable, I can send one, but it's working right now on the computer I want to replace.

Thanks for your help

Found another cable and got it to work. One *really* has to PUSH to get it in and the same pulling it back out (I thought I was pulling the innards out I pulled so hard), but it does work.

Thank you, sir, for your help.
