GOD OF WAR 2018 tops the chart for having awesome graphics but not to hard on the specs.

SILENT HILL 2 remake is the total opposite, sorry, it does not look impressive at all for a remake, and will bring down 40 series to its knees.

What do you specifically mean by "low requirements"?

Current system specs?

Quantify.

What do you want: a fun game that plays well or a game with "super nice graphics" that performs poorly on the host system?

Are you planning to purchase a computer? If so, budget?

Why is the Silent Hill 2 remake not "impressive"?

Overall, answers and ideas are all likely to be subjective without more specific information.

Fair enough if subjectivity is all that you are looking for....

Games with nice graphics but low sys reqs: Any pixel art game.

Games with poor graphics but high sys reqs: Any game that uses HDR and Path Tracing.

HDR makes colors overly vibrant. Real world colors aren't that vibrant, but instead mostly dull. (Unless surface is freshly painted with vibrant color and there's great sunlight.) Also, HDR can make dawn/dusk setting into a day, completely ruining the look and feel.

And Path tracing takes a LOT of compute power, dropping FPS off the cliff. Since with Path tracing, Ray tracing is also enabled. To get the FPS back, gimmicks need to be used, like DLSS/FSR and Frame Gen.

That's not true though, there are pixel "art" games that are ugly, or at least very basic, there are also pixel art games that run on unity and are very heavy, in relation to how they look.

Shout out to Everspace, full 3d (also vr) space rouge like that looks absolutely gorgeous also a pretty good and fun game and plays on a potato.

Those pixel art games that have procedural generation world, can get CPU heavy, yes. Even the simplest of games, like Minecraft, that can run on the weakest PC, can choke the fastest PC with big enough world or plenty of mods.

For a simple immersive and graphically enjoyable experience I like to put in Stray. I wouldn't go so far as "run on a potato", but it doesn't require much. Not really on topic to say that CP77 is probably my favorite game for turning on only to watch the graphics. It is beautiful and still requires a lot.

On the other hand, a lot of ports of the Grand Theft Auto series don't seemingly have high requirements and yet having high end hardware runs so terribly on many of them.
