I want to buy a gaming laptop that costs $1200-$1500 that is reliable, and has good sounds and lighting (doesn't have to be fancy). Initially, I wanted an ASUS TUF laptop or ROG Strix G, but both laptops have coils whining, and poor heat management. Some says Aorus, MSI, and Lenovo Legion. I can't use Acer Predator series, because I have an Acer laptop that had its motherboard broken, and I also had bad experiences with HP's screen. I don't know which one of these three (Lenovo, Aorus, MSI) are reliable. Please help me out...

Here some laptops that I can really think off the top of my head:
  • MSI GF75 Thin 0SC-027 17.3" $1096 on Amazon
  • Lenovo Legion Y7000 15.6" with IPS panel $1129 on Amazon
  • MSI GL series GL65 9SEK-065 15.6" 144Hz IPS panel $1299 on Newegg (Probably the best buy here)
MSI and Lenovo both make really great laptops so you can't really go wrong with both.

What about ASUS? Is it really that bad? What I said here, I learned it from a rumor on Reddit. Personally, I never had an issue with ASUS. Years ago, I built a computer with ASUS motherboard, and it posed no problems. Not so same with laptops, huh?

And I wonder how reliable is Aorus... I'm sorry for pushing you. You said you can't think any more than these three laptops...

No worries, it's fine to ask questions.

ASUS builds many great laptops and other system components. Reddit is a very bad place to get any advice from, since many most of the complaints are rumors and rarely any factual evidence. Rumors are just rumors, with no evidence to back it up.

Asus does not have that many $1200-$1500 laptops compared to other brands, but Asus is very good nevertheless.

Here are two that seem like a great buy:
  • ASUS ROG 17.3" FHD i7-9750H 24GB of RAM $1186 on Amazon
  • ASUS 15.6" Ryzen 7 3750H 16GB or RAM $1338 on NewEgg
As for Aorus, I really can't speak for them as I have never heard of that brand before.
