which gaming pc should i choose? - my first pc

Hello, i wonder wich pc is better for gaming. This is my first try to build a computer. So please keep it in mind. And also because of that i would apreciate all advices. Here are my 2 options (apreciate any advice or upgrade) - but i dont want to spend more than 800dollars.

1. Option

AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4ghz 6core CPU

Asus strix b350-f gaming atx am4 mobo

G.skill - Ripjaws V series 2x8gb ddr4-3200 memory

TCSunBow-X3 60gb ssd - just for system i dont have any experience with it - is that ssd good?

VIDEO CARD:
AsRock radeon RX 580 8gb phantom gaming x video card

EVGA supernova G3 80plus GOLD fully modular atx Power supply.

And a case (40 dollars)

-This costs about 775 bucks so I dont want to upgrade it for too much money. Im not sure with that power supply if is it enough W or too much so please help me out



2. Option


Intel i5 8400 2.8ghz - turbo boost 4ghz 6core CPU
And cpu cooler (hope its nice) to be possible to overclock it.- ARCTIC Freezer 7 pro

Asus ROG STRIX H360-H gaming ATX LGA1151 mobo

Patriot - Viper 4 2x4gb DDR4-3000 memory

same ssd like 1. option

VIDEO CARD:
a) same - ASRock radeon RX 580 8gb phantom gaming
b) diffrent - PNY geforce GTX 1060 6gb XLR gaming oc

same power supply like 1. option

And same case like 1. option

-This costs 812 with geforce and 40 bucks less with radeon. But this build does have just 8 gigs of RAM. also not sure with psu.


And because of that Im asking for help!
Please help me choose wich one is better (or help me change some parts to get higher performance!)
I apreciate any help.

You can't overclock an i5-8400, you need a K-series CPU and Z-series motherboard to overclock an Intel CPU.

You didn't actually mention the wattage of the PSU, but I believe the lowest wattage the EVGA G3 comes in is 550W which is plenty for either system.

Get the one with 16GB of RAM.

Where are you buying these from?

Definitely ryzen build. However you want to change that motherboard. Just get b450 or x470 motherboard and that's it. I have b350f strix and im not satisfied with it. Problems with ram, dont run docp.

Hi and thanks for answering. I meant that 550W PSU and i will get one with 16gb of RAM. I built that on pcpartpicker so its from e shops like Amazon, BaH , newgg and Superbiiz. - I want to pay as low as possible.
And in your opinion, is worth to get GTX 1060 6GB on that amd build or just stay with RX 580 8GB.

RX 580 8GB is very similar to the GTX 1060 6GB. I'd say whichever is more desirable to your budget.

You should get a B450 or X470 motherboard for the Ryzen 5 2600. The B350 might not be compatible out of the box without a bios update (which you woudln't be able to install without a compatible CPU).

Thanks a lot for help! I sticked to your advice and chose the MSI - B450-A PRO ATX AM4 Motherboard wich is even cheaper than asus strix. Do you think that mobo is allright for that ryzen build?

Yes thanks for saying that, on pcpartpicker website it told me the same thing. Now i chose this one: MSI B450-A PRO AM4 AMD B450 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI AMD Motherboard. -is that a good choice?

Yeah it's pretty good. Not fancy, but a solid budget board with the right features (VRM heatsinks) for a gaming system if you wanted to do some overclocking.

Yes, that mobo is good for your build. You wont have any compatibility issue and your ram will probably run at 3000 without any problem. About gpu, i would suggest you getting rx580. More vram and driver support is better on radeon cards.
