Intel Grand Total: $1,593.53

THE DIFFERENCE:

My AMD build features TWO 6950's in crossfire mode, which according to http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/charts...iast,2660.html
would blow my single 580 Intel setup's graphics out of the water.

However, the sandy bridge processor on my intel build is superior to the 1100T phenom processor for AMD.

Basically, is my $150 cheaper dual 6950 setup worth the processor performance hit? Keep in mind all I do is game.

Also to note: I only play on 1 monitor. Some people have said CF / SLi is pointless on 1 monitor, but I don't see how if it gives you a huge performance increase (even if you cant use 100% of it's FULL potential)

I would be playing on my single monitor @ 1920x1080.

I've fooled around configuring a 2500k config on newegg and the AMD version of my 2 choices seems to be better than the 2500k for pure gaming. I could be wrong but that's how it seems to me.

Really?

If this is true....

We're talking like 60+ FPS with maxed settings throwing 4x-8x AA in there too?

I guess I should update this post with.......

For running BF3, Skyrim, SWTOR, Starcraft 2, BC2, Diablo 3, etc at max settings, will either of these builds get me 60+ FPS?

Am I spending too much to get 60+ FPS with 1 monitor @ high/ultra settings? Can I get 60+FPS with graphics all the way up via spending less money?

The ONLY thing I want is 60+ FPS considering I'm running 1 monitor at 1920x1080. I don't have to have EVERY setting max, but would like at least 4x-8x AA
