Which gpu config for 1440p?

Gtx 1070 now and sli soonish. Or Gtx 1080 now and sli much later possibly a year or two?

If you want to save money, go for the GTX 1070 a then set up a SLI config. If you buy a GTX 1080, there is no need for SLI since it's so powerful.
