Which gpu? gtx 960 or 970?

my cpu is fx 8350 @ 4.5ghz and ill be playing at 1080p im mainly upgrading my gpu for gta v pc my current gpu is 650 ti 1gb im thinking that with the 970 ill be able to play most if not all games on max settings at 1080p and with the 960 i would be able to play with high settings at 1080p? my budget for a gpu is 340

there both great but go for the 970 but if your gonna stick with 1080p for a while than go with the 960

yeah im only gonna use 1080p getting the 970 with ensure max settings at 1080p where as the 960 will only do high settings 1080p i want to play far cry 4 at 60fps

radeon r9 280x Happy medium

Better than gtx 960 for less.
Great 1080p performance that is a lot less than gtx 970.

I'll no longer recommend any card with less that 3Gb of memory for high settings, so the R9 280X is a nice inbetween card, both for price and performance.
Between the GTX960 and 970 the choice is obvious: GTX970 all the way.
