Which GPU is better, the MSI AMD R9 290X or the MSI NVIDIA GTX 970?

Hi guys,

I was just wondering which GPU is better as i haven't got much knowledge about AMD GPU's, i think that the GTX 970 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-GTX-970-Graphics-Express/dp/B00NOP536Y/ref=pd_sim_sbs_computers_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=1N7KKTHWMVHSE2YPK9KV) is better but I'm not sure. Could someone confirm this and expain why it is better or why the AMD one is better (http://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-290X-GAMING-Graphics-PCI-E/dp/B00HQJBWIM/ref=cm_cd_ql_qh_dp_t)

Performance wise, they are about equal. But the GTX 970 does it at 145W while the R9-290X uses 300W. Go for the GTX 970.

If you want to heat your room at the same time you game, get the 290x.

If you want very fast performance at a low price, get the 970.

Performance are quite equal not much of a gap between these two. The r9 290X has more shaders or texture units and a higher memory bit. And its kinda like better for 4k gaming. But it runs hot! And consumes more power! So go with the gtx970

Stay away from AMD. I bought a Radeon 290x and it's been months of headaches and frustration and money spent. I hope they die.
