Which GPU shall I go for?

Hi community,
I am planning to build my first gaming PC over the christmas holidays, and I was wondering what GPU I should get. I was looking between these two GPU's:

I know that the 7970 is better: http://anandtech.com/bench/product/830?vs=770 - but I have a small budget so i was wondering about these factors:
- Which one is easier to OC?
- Which one has better cooling
- Your personal opinions on this subject
- ...etc.

7970 definitely it's better and got a nice cooler and you got a great price there .

cooling is down to aftermarket cooling for e.g evga has acx for some cards

The price on the 670 is good and it's performance is good as needed at this time.

Not a fan of XFX for GPU. Their quality has been subpar as of late. I only buy Sapphire AMD cards now.

You also need to put in mind that both next gen consoles are now powered by AMD and a custom AMD API (Mantle) is about to be released which will bost performance for AMD cards i ngames that will use it.

In my humble opinion the future lies with AMD.

Which would be better with a dual GPU setup if I wanted to upgrade later (e.g. 7970 Crossfire or GTX 670 SLI)

I don't know about crossfire to be honest, i never tried it but i know that a single powerful GPU will save you the headache you might get from running dual GPUs.
