Which GPU Should I Get

So I'm new to pc building so I don't know what GPU's are faster than others. So I need your help should I get the ROG Strix gtx 1080 from Asus or MSI Armor Edition gtx 1080. I know the 1080 ti came out recently but it is out of my budget so don't say "you should just get a 1080 ti". If you recommend any other gtx 1080's please tell me.

All 1080's are basically the same, but why a 1080 at all? what resolution are you using, what speed of monitor? a 1070 for 1440p is fine, and 1080 starts to get into 4k territory.
