Hey guys, i'm currently building a new pc and i went with an R5 3600 coupled with 16gb of ram and a tomahawk max. now i got like 400$ left in the budget and debating on which GPU to get. I'm thinking of the RX 5700 xt but i currently own a 1080p display and i thought about future proofing and seeing how the industry is moving so fast right now that's kinda dumb, so is the RX 5700 xt a good choice or should i go with something a bit lower like the 1660ti. considering i probably won't be upgrading for the next 3 to 4 years.

Yeah, agree. Get any CUSTOM AIB MODEL, like e.g this one from MSI. There are many more models from PowerColor, ASUS, ASROCK, sapphire, and XFX to choose from. (y)

If you want more future proofing, then get the RX 5700 XT. Else, grab the GTX 1660 Ti. It's a decent 1080p performer. Do you also have a compatible PSU with you ?

Yeah i have a seasonic s12ii 520w bronze 80+ , oldie that I'm keeping but imma upgrade it soon enough but not currently, i just noticed that where i live the RX 5700 non xt is similarly priced to the 1660ti, i might opt for that.

Is your 1080p monitor limited to, say, 60 or 75Hz?

If so, then yeah, the 1660Ti would be plenty. If not, then maybe go with the 5700 non-XT. The 5700XT is overkill for a 1080p monitor if you're not going for say 100+ fps frame rates AND/OR don't have a monitor with a correspondingly high refresh rate.
