Which GPU to add with i3 3220

So currently I have a old setup... As the GPU being a GT 630 and the CPU being a i3 3220... So if i would add like a R9 280x... It's going to bottleneck but is the card going to just perform at the limit or is it actually going to be worse?... If so what would be the best GPU to add that would be still good for some games like GTA 5, Rust,...

Have you got a power supply that can handle an R9 280X?

Anyways, the GTX 950 is ideal for upgrading here (If you have a 400w PSU). It will work ok with the CPU.

you want that card to play those games, BUT you wont get full usage of it until you get an i5 as well

that means that your fps will be limited by the i3 in those games

No...Right now my PSU is nowhere near to handle an R9 280X...Since it's only 230W but i will change it when i get the GPU... Though I will have to think what GPU to get since the GTX 950 is 170€ while the R9 280 is about 185€ so what would be the better choice beetween these 2 GPUs?

Your CPU will do just fine in most cases, but you might see a little bottleneck occasionally (In CPU Intensive Games).

Definitely go with the GTX 960. Nvidia card usually have a much lower TDP which means you have to spend less on a PSU. The 960 should be able to handle pretty much any game on high, if not ultra at 30+ fps at 1080p. You might have some very minor bottlenecks, losing at most 10 fps from games, but this will be true for either graphics card. The GTX 960 is also cheaper than the R9 280X, but it offers nearly the same graphics performance:

Why not go for the cheaper option if they have the same performance.

The 280 and 280x are better options and faster then the 960 if your upgrading the PSU That is what I would suggest is at least a R 280x

Imo there is no point in R9 280X. For i3-3220 GTX 950 is the best balanced GPU.

And R9 280X is faster than the GTX 960, but benchmarks are often done with outdated drivers when it comes to AMD cards like that.

R9 280X is faster than the GTX 960. I think it's a better option (if he have a good 550w PSU).
