Hello,

My current system is:
  • CPU: i5-10600K
  • Memory: 32GB G.Skill Aegis DDR4-3200 DIMM CL16 Dual Kit
  • GPU: GTX 1060 6gb
  • MB: MSI MPG Z490 GAMING PLUS
  • PSU: be quiet! Pure Power 11 cm ATX PC 600W 80Plus Gold
I mainly play multiplayer games and want to be able to play them at 2560x1440@high, if possible 144fps. Games Like:
  • Helldiver 2
  • Rainbow 6 Siege
  • (Maybe something new in the future)
Also I would like to play some of the latest single player games at high graphics @ 60 fps.

I am thinking of upgrading to either a RTX 3060TI or if my CPU is not bottlenecking a RTX 4070.

My questions:
Can I go to either GPU without changing other components (PSU)?
Is it worth it to upgrade to a RTX 4070 or is my CPU becoming the bottleneck?
Is the price diffrence between a 3060TI and 4070 currently worth it?

I hope you can help me. Looking forward to your replies.

Thank you.

4070 is going to be 40-50% faster than 3060 Ti in the same power envelope. I don't know where you're buying from, but buying a 3060 Ti new in the US is a complete waste of money pricing wise.

Something with more than 8GB VRAM is advisable for 1440p gaming for longevity sake.

It really comes down to how much money you want to spend in total though. AMD has some better options, but require more power and I wouldn't recommend anything over 200W without a PSU replacement.

How old is the PSU?

Where are you located? Different regions will have a different pricing scheme. Personally I'd get something from the 4000 series, if possible the RTX4070Super, which will be a good step above your GTX1060.

Thank you for the replies.

Located in EU.
Prices are roughly:
3060 ti: 400€
4070: 560€
4070 Super: 620€

Bought the PSU in 2020 so about 4 years old.
Can I upgrade to any of these without changing the PSU?

Based on that pricing the 4070 Super would be the best deal, but it uses more power so I don't really think it's a good idea with the current PSU. The other two are both 200W parts and should be okay with your PSU so long as you don't add additional power usage over that.

Thank you all for the reply. I think I am going with a 4070 Super and a new PSU.

Can anyone of you recommend a good PSU? I prefer quieter/silent onces.

Is it important which manufacturer I buy? I have heard some models have problem with coil whine.

I would highly recommend using this to help pick a PSU, and would suggest maybe going to 850W so you should be good through the life of the PSU: https://hwbusters.com/best_picks/best-atxv3-pcie5-ready-psus-picks-hardware-busters/

Shop for a unit with at least a 7 yr warranty....longer won't hurt.... also look for the atx 3.0 spec.

When you find something read the reviews.
