I'm currently building and I don't want to limit my search of GPUs.
I currently have a GTX 660.

your case's available space and your power supply wattage should be the only limiting factor in choosing a GPU.

determine what space you have at the PCIe x16 slot you wish to use depth-wise, vertically, & horizontally.
then compare that space to whichever GPU you find to ensure it will fit.

and find a GPU that can run under a 550w powered system.
a lot of the 3rd party manufactured RTX 3060\3060 Ti state requirement of 650w or higher,
so your choice in later model GPUs may be very limited.

considering how difficult it is to actually find a decent GPU in stock;
a better option for you may be to just find any available GPUs that fit in your budget
and then see which of those can run under 550w.

Maybe an RTX2060/3060 as a maximum (about 200W). RX5700, or RX580. All the newer ones are pretty beefy cards.

3060Ti, 3070, probably not good idea without a 650W or more.

Anything from the 16 series from Nvidia would be fine. Some GTX1070, but not all, all GTX1060 and below.

GTX980 and below. Not much sense going for anything in the 700 series.

R9-380 and below.

would you suggest swapping out the power supply for this instead?

Only if you want to use a larger GPU.

Not sure I would want to stuff a big GPU in that chassis. Very old school, my guess would be hard mounted drive cages in the front. Which means you should stick the standard 10.5" length cards.

I’m now looking at RTX 3060, and 650W power supply. Which cheaper cases would you recommend?
Cheers
