i got offer for used gpus, which one shud i go for?

  1. sapphire dual oc rx 580 8gb
  2. msi gtx 1060 6gb

softwares i use : lumion, sketchup, autocad, archicad, vray, photoshop

Solution
Well thanks all for the thoughts
I personally tested both the cards and landed up on Rx 580 because, I opened the same files in lumion using 2 cards and Checked that

1. MSI GTX 1060 6gb oc V2 - was giving 14-15 fps and vram 4700 of 6100 mb was free

2. Asus dual Rx 580 oc 8gb - was giving 19-20 fps and 6700 of 8100 vram was free

Even though MSI GTX 1060 has boost of 1760 mhz and Rx 580 has boost 1350 mhz, somewhere I could say Rx 580 was better

MSI furmark stress gave 78c max
Rx 580 furmark stress gave 72c max
So Rx 580 I bought over GTX 1060 and am happy :)

If the RX580 is cheaper, just get that one.
They are incredibly similar performance wise, so may as well just get cheaper.
The GTX 1060 is more power efficient, so if this is important to you, get the 1060.

Asides that, you'll want to make sure you have an adequate and good quality PSU, especially if you opt for the RX580. (185W vs 120W design spec).

i see gtx 1060 has higher 400 mhz gpu core clock compared to rx 580 will that matter
or
rx 580's 8gb vram over 6gb vram matter?
You could probably hear arguments for editing either way. Some will say programs prefer the VRAM, others will say they prefer CUDA Arch / Speed.
So in my opinion, opt for the one that fits your personal needs the most (aesthetics, cost, power efficiency etc.).

ok i guess i need to go with one which gives higher fps, as the software im using is not consuming full of my vram 1gb out of 2gb infact half and still showing up 6fps max, what matters for higher fps.

What 450W PSU is yours, make and model?

As said above, they are similar in performance as far as gaming goes. Although gaming at what resolution, what settings and what refresh rates? It also depends on game titles a little as some favor nVidia and some favor AMD GPUs. Again very similar performance these two cards.

How they performs in each of those software packages you mentioned I'd say you have to ask on their relevant forums. Plus some graphics-related software are more CPU-bound and the GPU doesn't matter that much. So it's a bit comparing apples ad oranges and you can't have a card that's good at gaming and at all those different software at the same time.

With a 450W PSU I'd get the one which is more power efficient, despite the little price difference. Also getting used GPUs is always risky. You can not really know if they've been stressed a lot or have been used in mining rigs or not. I'd suggest you retain the right to test and return to seller if they're not up to par.
