I'm looking to upgrade my current graphic card. Any recommendations for a graphic card that can play max at 1080, not going to go beyond that.

Processor: i5 3470 3.2ghz
Motherboard: Asus p8h77v
Psu: 500w
Graphic: gtx 650
Casing: cooler master elite series
OS: Windows 10 pro 64-bit

I googled a bit and stuck with this 2 choice - Rx 480 and gtx 1060. Can my system support either card? If yes, do you all mind telling me which one to get as I'm seeing so many variants of both. I would like a decent, cheap one to save cost as I see that some are super expensive.

Well, they are pretty much on pair with each other. They say RX 480 will have better DX12 in the future, but who can tell the future? Also, devs may not switch to the API. It all comes down "what if." Me personally? I'm an nVidia guy, and that's what I prefer. Some people will say get the 1060. However, if you do, try to shoot for the 6GB or 8GB versions of each card, which are priced at $249 USD.

What type of games are you willing to play?

Hi thanks for your reply. I'm leaning more towards the 1060 as well. I play games like dota 2, cs:go, overwatch, gta v, nfs, fifa, guild war 2, tera, blade and soul.

Another question, if I were to get the 1060, which one should I get?
Palit GeForce GTX 1060 Dual 6GB
MSI GTX 1060 6GT OCV1
MSI GeForce GTX 1060 AFTERBURNER 6GB
ASUS DUAL OC GTX1060 6GB
Palit GeForce GTX 1060 Super Jetstream 6GB

I'm leaning towards gtx 1060 6gb. May I ask which got a nice cooler cause there's too many variant out there?
These are the ones that is cheaper in my country.
Palit GeForce GTX 1060 Dual 6GB
MSI GTX 1060 6GT OCV1
MSI GeForce GTX 1060 AFTERBURNER 6GB
ASUS DUAL OC GTX1060 6GB
Palit GeForce GTX 1060 Super Jetstream 6GB

I mean they are all pretty much the same. Some may have a slighty higher boost clock, but other than that, nothing really major. Also look for a PSU connector (6 or 8 pin)? I personally perfer EVGA, MSI, ASUS, or Gigabyte. But that's just me.

Thanks for the suggestion. By the way what's the difference between a 6/8 pin PSU connector?

Thanks, these 3 are at the same price in my country so I don't know which to pick, palit dual, asus dual and the msi ocv1. The super jetstream is slightly more expensive
