Asus gtx 275 vs HD 4890

I've read gtx winning 4890 in fps in COD and gta which are mainly the games I play. But in some reviw it says the otherwise.

Does gtx 275 support dx10?

Seems like gtx has the problem of overheating, anyone has solution to that?

And does gtx with gddr 3 lose out in future as hd4890 is using gddr 5.

And gtx doesn't even reach 1gb whereas hd4890 does, will that affect the performance despite of many reviews saying gtx is slighted better.

Thanks mate for giving mr the link, I'm very new so pls pardon me.
I'm learning still and hope to build a computer by this weekend.

As far as overheating as long as the case itself has decent ventilation and nothing is cramping the gtx275 it should be fine. Frankly, they wouldn't sell it if it didn't work right.

With regards to the memory differences, i think as the resolution goes up the memory bandwidth will become more and more noticeable, but even when looking at 1680x1050 which is close to HD, it's rather clear the 275 is quicker, regardless of the memory difference.

I do wonder though if running multiple monitors would make a difference? Hopefully someone else will chime in here in a bit 8)

Honestly you wouldn't go wrong with either card. Personally I learn towards the 4890 as I like to OC my cards and get the most value as possible out of them. The 4890 seems to have a higher leeway when it comes to OC'ing and thus giving higher top end performance.

You are right though, benchmark to benchmark it largely depends on what games you play.
