I have a gateway dx 4860-ur33p

6 GB
Memory

Intel Core i5 2320
3.0 GHz
Power Supply
300 W
No uefi support

I spent all day looking for a graphics card that is compatible and even went on pc-specs.com The best card they recommend is the radeon 6950. But I have concerns about the power supply. I really want to use the gtx 750 ti but i think that requires uefi motherboard which I don't have.

I know my computer is old but whats the best option for a 150 dollar budget to get the best gaming experience possible? I would prefer to be able to get a graphics card that I can just plug in and is under 100. Which I thought the radeon 6950 was but I think that has power issues and not sure if it takes the old bios.

I have used a 780ti on a DFI Lanparty M2RS motherboard with a Phenom II x4 940 (testing something). Works just fine, no uefi at all,a nd also PCIe 2.0 x16.

You'll be fine with a 750ti, Though you should replace the power supply, even though the card wont have the 6pin, the extra load being drawn from the PCIe is asking for trouble with the current PSU from what I'v read.

This PSU is ok if your on a budget, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371033

But if your wanting to lets say upgrade your GPU further down the road, this will work and would power up most of the single GPU's out there. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151136

Of course there are more options, if you find a PSU and or...
The 750 Ti doesn't require a UEFI motherboard; check out "The Inspiron Gaming Revival" from Green Ham Gaming on YouTube, he uses a newer GTX 950 on a system with a Core 2 Quad. It DEFINITELY doesn't have a UEFI motherboard :) Anyway, you will indeed have power issues with the 6950 (it sucks down 200W by itself), so you'll definitely need to limit yourself to a GPU that runs solely off the motherboard power, or, in other words, doesn't require a 6/8-pin power connector. The GTX 750 Ti or a few GTX 950 models will work very well for this purpose, and in your price bracket, the 750 Ti takes the cake: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125824 (don't forget the promo code)
