Which graphics card for software like After effects and Unity?

SO I wanted to buy me a gtx 970 or r9 290x, now I know both work perfectly with games but I also like to use UNITY, After effects and video editing so which one should I go for? GTX 970 has cuda technology which works perfectly with After effects plugins but should I consider r9 290x?

GTX 970 is on par with R9 290X but is cheaper . i would go for GTX 970 4GB VRAM . o/
