Which graphics card is best compatible with my ASRock G31M-GS R2.0?

I have a limited budget. I am looking for a good-quality graphics card for my ASrock G31M-GS R2.0. I cannot afford as of now to buy a new motherboard. I just want to make the most of my existing one. I want a graphics card that can handle games like Assassin's Creed, SWTOR and so on. Any suggestions?

My PSU is a Techwill PSU Model P4-500W. I am looking for an affordable graphics card that can decently handle latest games today.

I'd recommend the 7870 XT http://amzn.to/11R8RrF since it is based on the Tahiti chip like the 79xx series cards.

Will this work considering I am using an Intel Core 2 duo processor? Is that a factor?
