Looks like everyone is saying the best option to match the CPU would be a 2080 super at least all the reveiws I'm finding

If you can get the 3060 I’d go that route. The 3050 in my opinion is overpriced. I’ve owned zotac and asus cards and they have both been decent so I don’t really have an opinion there except to say get whichever one is more reasonably priced and has the best warranty.

I see you’ve got a ryzen 1700. Once you get the graphics card, I’d recommend at some point to start shopping for a new cpu. You may find that a zen 3 cpu like the ryzen 5600x for example would give you nice performance boost and would probably work with your existing board after a bios update.

I would go for an RX 6600 or 6600\6650 XT over an RTX 3050 or 3060, they're cheaper, the 6600 is within 5% of the 3060, and the 6600XT is faster than the 3060. Don't even consider the 3050, even in ray tracing the 6600 is within 10% of it and the 6600XT is faster and both destroy it in everything else. Here is an article for the 6650XT it has all the mentioned GPU's in there.

For recording if I’m not mistaken I think they have an elgato capture card than can help with that. Something like this for example, but there are other models as well.

That said though, if you use your rig for gaming, the guy above is correct, I should have mentioned it. The rx 6600 is a good value at the moment and is pretty close to the 3060 for performance. I would also check about your motherboard because I have an Asrock ab350 pro 4 motherboard and they recently released an updated bios that supports the ryzen 5000 series cpus. So I was able to drop in a ryzen 5 5600x although I could have purchased something like a 5900x. But going for example from a ryzen 1700 to a 5800x would be a huge upgrade and put you almost on par with Intel’s latest offerings which is great considering how old your pc is.
