Which graphics card is better?

I'm trying to find my brother a graphics card so he can play Starcraft 2 on better graphics. He has an old HP on windows Vista. I'm trying to find oen for around $80-100 and I found two so far on Newegg. One is EVGA 02G-P4-2643-KR GeForce GT 640 2GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card for $90 and MSI N640GT-MD1GD3 GeForce GT 640 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card for $80. On Newegg it doesn't show its memory clock and I know both brands are very good for graphics cards. Which one is better?

There is a model of the gt 640 that has gddr5. If you can find that one you should buy it, otherwise the radeon 7750 will outperform either of those cards with the same power consumption for roughly the same price and it comes with a free game.

well, you can go for ati radeon hd 7750.....instead of gt 640..........hd 7750 is new and also uses less power consumption and gives really decent fps in gaming......i'm also planning to buy it this year so go for it!!!!!

You need to make sure his power supply and case will run whatever card you are looking at.

thats y i asked for hd 7750 it uses less power and it can be runned easily in 300-350 watt psu well yes he should tell his pc specs....
