I plan to overclock and watercool a gtx 980. I read that some don't care if you remove the stock cooler so long as you put the cooler back on if it needs servicing. Others put a sticker on the screws which void the warranty if broken. Same for overclocking - they void the warranty if overclocked.

Is there any company that won't care if I do either? I was planning on getting the card from MSI. Is that company fine with it or do I need a different one? I don't need protection against water leakage, just want a warranty in case it dies.

Just trust me on this one. EVGA is hands down THE BEST GPU manufacturer for customer support. They let you do almost anything and still cover things. Warranty is also great on their cards...

Never ever had a bad experience from them. Ever. RMA process is fantastic, employees are so nice and calm to you, they know all of your problems and it's just 10/10 for service from there. Everybody admits so.

Not sure about MSI, but I have xperience with Gigabyte I have 290Xs, three of them, I had to warranty two so far, all three were open box. When I RMAd the first one, they said put it back together the way you got it (paraphrasing) and send it in we'll take care of it. They did. Good service very friendly, wasn't the fastest, XFX has a lifetime warranty and they stand behind it. I had a computer that got hit by lightning that had two 6800s in it from like 1902, emailed them, they said send them in, they sent me two 9500s very easy, very fast very friendly, don't know if they cover you if you take apart their stuff though. Visiontek is the only other company I've had to RMA stuff with and I will never buy another visiontek product again.

Like I said before it's always EVGA. Best customer support and warranty out there. XFX is good for AMD users. For NVIDIA cards it's hands down EVGA. I had a PSU from them that was causing some wattage issues. They threw me with so many suggestions and the way the talked to me was like as if I was talking to them in person. Tech support is great, RMA procedures are smooth, the quality of their cards is usually great as well, sometimes the best of the crop, their offers are awesome (for every question you have you are submitted for a giveaway a week, then there's the step-up program), and they almost don't care at all if you do anything with your GPU. Waterblocks, thermal paste upgrades, mods, you name it, they allow so much of it. My expereince has been so amazing. Unlike Gigabyte, MSI and ASUS, the big three that have poor customer support time to time, EVGA puts their customers first. 10/10 from me, I always recommend them.
