MSI w/o a thought ... since the 5xx series, EVGA SC line has prertrty much always been a reference card with a nice cooler. Weak VRM, in adeqaute VRM / Memory cooling
I couldn't find reviews on the 1060 from same site sill give ya this as they did do both for the 1080 Ti:
(9.3) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition 11 GB
https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_1080_Ti/
(9.4) EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC2 11 GB
https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/EVGA/GTX_1080_Ti_SC2/
(9.7) MSI GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X 11 GB
https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_1080_Ti_Gaming_X/
The EVGA SC came in only 0.1 points above the reference card... when OC'd the MSI was faster
MSI GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X 11 GB - 214.3 fps
EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC2 11 GB - 209.3
For another comparison ... the 19060 is close in performance to the 970 ... read pages 3 and 4 here which cover a complete tear down of the EVGA SC and MSI Gaming 970s. When you look at the details on the power delivery, VRMs, chokes, memory / VCRM cooling etc, you already know who is going to win the performance battle.

There are substantial differences in the components used leading to one card have a significant edge. Also why pay more money for what is essentially a reference card ?
Look here... MSI and Giga lead the pack for the1060s again w/ the 9.8 rating
