BACKSTORY

So 2 years ago roughly, I bought a custom PC. All was good, but I noticed that I started taking editing more seriously. I have knowledge of many PC parts and which to get, I understand CPU and memory is a big portion of editing, along with SSD/HDD speed. I am planning to upgrade ALOT of my PC, then selling my parts to a friend of mine, who does not do heavy gaming. The thing is, editing is starting to become more GPU heavy, as it has to display higher resolutions and more effects. Along with games such as my favourite, CS:GO, updating constantly and lowering my framerate eachtime, I used to hit 270, now I hit 90. Although, most people will say "It doesn't matter, your monitor is only 60Hz", I want to have a good computer for future. I also like high framerates because it is smoother, mouse movement is more accurate, and lag spikes are not as strong.

I am focused on the GTX 1060. I do not want to change. I know that they are great for what I need, and within a good price too. I just don't know what one to get. I was planning on getting the ASUS 1060 Turbo @ 6GB, but now I can't remember why. I would like one with 6GB, and I want one at a good price which gives me what I need. What would be suitable?

Bit off topic, but what is the rest of your build? And budget overall (I'll assist you in picks for editing and things if you wish)

But here's a list of GTX 1060's with 6GB of VRAM:

From there; any of them will do, just pick the one that you think is best for you, they will all perform within 10%~ of each other, just pick the most aesthetically pleasing one. Stay away from the Zotac Mini, since that is for Mini-ITX builds in really small cases. There are a couple of others that are for that too, but here's one I tend to recommend when people ask about this:

Thanks so much. I'll just go for the turbo like i was originally going to. I currently have an AMD 8320fx, so I'll be upgrading to an i7 6700 @ 3.4GHz, is that good for editing (I don't do basic clip cutting I do effects, rendering and a bunch of stuff like that). I'm upgrading my ram from 16 DDR3, to 32 DDR4. Also getting a larger HDD, along with a new motherboard which fits my CPU, because currently my motherboard is for AMD only, so im getting the ASUS E3 pro gaming V5

The 6700 is great for editing, but depending on when you do it, the 7700 might be out, so it'd be worth paying a little extra for that instead of the 6700.

The 6700 has 4C8T (4 Cores 8 Threads) and is generally purchased for people who like to render videos and to do tasks that require a powerful processor with strong cores and multiple threads, hence why people tend to stay away from AMD for rendering, as the cores are weaker on those CPUs (Unless Zen changes that).

It would be better to get a 6700k/7700K but on a limited budget, saving that extra $40-50 is a nice save.
