Spec wise the acer has a slight edge due to the ssd but I would buy the mis as they are known for gaming more than acer. Also the gt series of msi is considered to be very good with cooling and noise and the reliability is very good I hear. I am not sure about the acer predator.

Acer doesn't have a very good reputation. MSI has a very good reputation.

Looks like they both have a 128GB SSD. The MSI has a larger screen plus G-Sync, and as you stated MSI has a known (and good) reputation for building sturdy gaming laptops, whereas Acer has always been considered a lower tier brand and is relatively new at gaming laptops. I say go for the MSI, too.
