Which GTX 980 Ti card is the best for games like GTA V. I am trying to compare brands such as EVGA, ZOTAC, MSI and PNY.

Solution
I've had a few PNY cards and have made use of their warranty a couple times. It's a pretty good deal. You never have to worry about replacing your card. Now I'm waiting for my GTX 780 Ti to crap out, sometime after Pascal or Volta gets released for my next upgrade.
Zotac and PNY are kinda lower end companies in the manufacturing industry. MSI and EVGA are both great choices. EVGA has the best customer service in the business and stay nice and cool. Msi makes a great cooler as well and perform just as well as evga. Either would be a great option.

Got my EVGA (SC stock cooler) to 1.4 Ghz @ 70 - 75 DegC (but I use headphones)

A guy at my work has got a EVGA KINGPIN at 1.4 GHz @ 80 DegC in Sli with a cards width between them. (I don't think he's tried to overclock them yet, that's just GPU boost)

I don't think it matters that much, more important is the cooler type (blower vs aftermarket) with your case and air flow availability IMO

Yes, the Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti Extreme http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GeForce-XTREME-G... is going to be the best performing model out of the box and likely for overclocking as well since the GPU's are binned. The only option the would be better is the EVGA Kingpin but that card is designed more for LN2 cooling and competition overclocking.

The msi lightning card hits over 1520 as well without voltage changes. The classified cards, msi cards, pny HOF cards are all pre binned so its not just the gigabyte extreme editions. Oh and of course the kingping cards too.

I've actually got a Lightning and had the HOF edition. =)

In my opinion the Gigabyte GTX 980 TI 6GB Xtreme is the best version. It has both air and liquid versions. You can buy whichever you want.

The Xtreme versions from Gigabyte are really top notch. You should consider checking them out.

It was alright. Not really confident in the build quality. One night I smelled something funny and the card had random frame drops since, so I returned it.

i see what you mean for nvidia cards i always go evga or asus and for amd i always go sapphire or asus
i typically don't recommend msi because i had two HORRIBLE experiences with there gpus (but there laptops are good : i have one :) )

i hear thats true my first card died a week after i got it and the second card was not what it said it was when i got it from amazon
