Hi All

So I'm waiting on delivery for my new rig due on Wednesday its going to be one for me to tinker with for the next year before I invest heavily into a serious gaming rig. I just wanted some advice on compatibility a variety of possible HDD's

Here's my build....

Black Vantange Gaming Case
i5-3450 Intel CPU - (3.1GHz)
8GB DDR3 RAM - (1333MHz)
500gb Sata III Hard Drive, 7200RPM
Asus Motherboard P8H61MXUSB3
NVidia GTX650Ti 1GB GDDR5 RAM

I would like to purchase a new HDD but I am unsure of which would best suit my current system (Budget £50-£75)...Best value for money would be best.

Thanks in advance!

You could go with the Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB; it's about $50 which as far as I know is less than £50

That's a real tough price range if you're looking for price/GB.
you can find 1Tb drives on sale for around 50 and 2TB drives on sale for around 75 but you can find 3T drives for 100. Unfortunately 3TB are by far the best price per GB of storage right now and 4TB are close.

The value models you want to look for are the 2TB caviar green(western digital) or Seagate Barracuda.

Fair Enough.

This Seagate 2TB offers pretty good value and is one ofthe top preforming HDD 7200rpm models arround
Been using it myself
Right now in UK it is the 3rd best price/gb HDD right after a 5400rpm drive and the seagate 3tb

Generally (newest gen)
seagate barracuda/caviar blue > caviar black/samsung/toshiba > caviar green
