i am looking for a 1/2 tb hdd..what is the diff between 3gb/s and 6gb/s provided iam going to use it for gaming purposes which is better and please suggest a few good models

No mechanical HD can take advantage of anything up to or beyond 3gb/s. 6gb/s is relevant to the latest (and possibly future) SSDs only.

None of that may affect gaming that much - video cards, processor and RAM are most relevant there. Assuming you have at least a decent performing HD, maybe an SSD for boot, you will be in good shape.
