Which i7 processor

I was wondering if I should upgrade my cpu I currently have an i5 3470 on Z77 motherboard 1155 socket.
I am looking to go with a i7 cpu but I am wondering should I get a new motherboard 1150 or 2011 socket and get a newer i7 model or stick with 1155 motherboard and go for i7 3770k?
