Which intel processor to buy

I am looking for budget processor option. Building a system of 32 GB DDR4 ram with 500 GB SSD for Lab virtualization. any thoughts which processor to buy... I56600K or i7 ??

Well if you're serious about what you're going to do, then an i7 would be more ideal than an i5. But it's hardly what most would identify as budget. Especially not on a 32GB RAM system with an SSD. If you're just going to run one VM at a time though or something like that, then an i5 will do. I don't know the scale of your operation, but it sounds fairly dedicated. You don't need a K edition CPU unless you're wanting to OC.

We need to know more. What country? How many VM? What's the rest of your system? Neither of those processors are 'budget' and if they are in consideration, then you should add the i7 5820K to the mix. Are you using this system to make money?

No There will be like multiple VM's which i want to run and as i said it for my personal lab environment.. So suggest me which one will i prefer.

Nope this system is for my personal to keep me intact by doing live practicals. Also i7 5820K is same as of Skylake I7 processor . Need to know will I5 will satisfy my needs ?? .. Since i am going to gen 6 so the motherboard i will be using will be 1151 series..

I still think you should look at the i7 5820K, or the soon to be released Broadwell-E. The LGA 2011-v3 socket with DDR4 memory is still current and relevant, and six cores is better than four for VM.

The extra hyperthreading for an i7 would push me away from an i5. Without more details on exactly what you want to run and how many of them and what you expect to see and experience, we need to be conservative in our recommendations. An i5 might be enough for you, it would not be enough for me.

Go with DonkeyOaties advice. Maybe even get a Xeon. If you're spending this much money and are aiming for virtualization, that I5 almost seems obsolete. Better go with X99 or at least the 6700K.
