Hello everyone.
So i am in need of hdd for my desktop pc for my direct use videos, ai trained models, 3d modeling (UE, Blender, 3ds max, Daz) assests, and steam games library backup, application setups etc. All of my current hdds are Seagate Barracuda 8Tb drives except one is 4tb and i have currently only one slot left for the hdd. I wanted a bigger drive like 14 to 18tb but as Seagate discontinued their barracuda line so currently only upto 8Tb (109usd) hdd is available. On the other hand their Ironwolf Pro has 18tb around 350usd on bestbuy. Iron wolf is a NAS drive and is constantly running and because of that its noise is also there all the time and i heard its loud enough for you to hear it. But it has better speed than barracuda hdd. So my question is, is ironwolf pro 18tb (350usd) worth it for my use and is it a better option or should i get 2 8tb barracuda drives for around 220usd which is also less than a 16tb iron wolf pro hdd. In 2 8tb hdds' case i will be swapping my 4tb drive with one as i mentioned i only have 1 port/slot available in my system and then i will be using my 4tb hdd as external hdd with usb connection for the files i don't use that often.
Also WD also doesn't have more than 8Tb drive for their barracuda eqvalent drive which is WD blue if i am not wrong. The reason i have all the seagate drives because in my experience they were/are more reliable than WD and Toshiba as i have had bad experiences multiple times with wd and Toshiba internal hdds specially with WD. I have multiple wd external passport/pocket drives though and they are great.
I will really appreciate the help guys, thanks.

Probably the time to start considering external storage. Get those large NAS drives and get yourself a NAS box and some fast network equipment. Then the noise is not a factor.

Also separates your main system from the drives in case that system fails. You could still get another large drive to keep in your main system as a backup for the NAS as well. Don't even necessarily have to keep it plugged in.

Possibly switch your local storage to a large 8TB SSD as well, so your working files are faster.

WD equivalent to the Barracuda would be Black, Blue is their budget line.

Looks like the going rate for 18TB Ironwolf or WD Red Pro drives is about $325. $295-310 for the 16TB.

The thing with the really large drives is avoiding Shingled Magnetic Recording. Makes writing, and particularly, re-writing, very slow as the tracks actually overlap. Red Pro drives are usually what I go with.

You want CMR drives for best performance.
