i am building a pc for streaming and gaming purpose which cpu will handle future games and stream smoothly ryzen 1600 or intel i5 8400

gpu is msi 1060 6gb

If you're looking at the future, then you should look no less than the highest end Ryzen or the Coffelake i7's but if we're to look at things on a practical level where budget matters, you're going to have to side with the Coffeelake i5-8400.

If the objective is to future-proof for streaming and gaming purposes, wouldn't it be in his best interest to upgrade the CPU and GPU? He didn't list budgetary constraints, so would upgrading to a GTX 980 Ti be worth considering as well?
