I am building a budget build with an AMD Ryzen 3400g and was wondering if 2 slower (2666mhz) sticks of ram were better than 1 faster stick (3200 mhz)

Thanks in advance

While Ryzen (and APUs more specifically) benefit from fast RAM, they also benefit substantially from operating in dual channel.

If the option is 2x8GB @ 2666MHz or 1x16GB 3200MHz, I'd opt for 2x8.
However, I find it hard to believe that a 1x16GB of faster speed would be cheaper than a 2x8.... Even if it was, I'd imagine it's only a difference of a couple insert currency and relatively insignificant.

Where are you located? and what kind of prices are you seeing?
