Can someone please advise me as to which is better from the two types of RAM?

Some people say DDR4 is better because its new and others say DDR3 is better for playing games.

I'm not so much into gaming and I'm planning on building my own PC on a tight budget.

Intel Pentium G4400 Processor - Socket 1151

ASUS Intel H110M-K Motherboard - Socket
1151

Crucial 4GB 2133MHz DDR4 Desktop Memory X 2

The Crucial 4gb is more expensive than DDR3 RAM and the ASUS board mentioned above supports DDR4 RAM so I will not be able to plug DDR3 into it.

So I wanted to know if it is worth it to spend extra bucks on DDR4 RAM or Should I buy a board that supports DDR3 RAM and settle for DDR3.

I have seen an ASROCK board that supports DDR3 RAM
ASRock H110M DGS/DS mATX Motherboard - Socket 1151

I don't intend to do a lot of gaming, just occasional gaming and more office based work.

your advice will be greatly appreciated.

DDR4 is faster, has more bandwidth and a lower voltage at the same time. I'm not sure who is going around saying DDR3 is better for Gaming, but that is a lie. I recommend you get DDR4 unless the DDR3 is a lot cheaper but even then you need DDR3L for H110 Motherboards if i am not mistaken (Low voltage kit). Hope this helps :)

My statement was in response to his quote "others say DDR3 is better for playing games". Sorry if i didn't word it quite correctly but i agree it's not better in every situation, just the situation he was asking.

On a side note, i apologize for any offence you may have taken i was not aware a Moderator or any expert for that matter told him it was better since he just said "some people".

Thank you CRO5513 &
Tesetilaro for the good advise.
Im going to stick to DDR4 and the ASUS board.

Do you guys have any experience with the intel Pentium G4400 @ 3.3ghz CPU and ASUS Mobo

Is ASUS mobo more better than ASROCK, MSI, Ggigabyte, Foxcon and Biostar?
