Which is better for 4750 .. hec raptor 500w or coolermaster EP 500w ?

hi guys im planning to buy a his 5750 but before i buy this card i need to buy a good psu coz im using a 500w generic .... i just want to know which is better for 5750 if its hec raptor 500w or cooler master extreme power 500w im confuse of this 2 psu please help me to solve thanks 😀 😀 😀 😀

Neither is what I would call "good". If you want a good PSU, look in to a Corsair, Antec, OCZ, Seasonic, and PC Power & Cooling. A quality 500-550W (ie 550VX) will work well. HOWEVER, if you plan to CrossFire I recommend you getting a Corsair 650TX or similar.

but i will not go for crossfire ... i will use one 5750 ... so you mean this card will run good in 550w psu??? but i need a good and budget psu.... corsair, ocz and antec are expensive ... but what do you think about hec raptor 500w because my friend use a hec raptor 500w with his 4890 oc (single card) and it works fine but i dunno if will last long ..... what do you think???

Corsair, Antec and all others listed above use much better quality components hence ensuring long term reliability and stability of the system.

The 550W Corsair Listed above is a good PSU and it will suffice for most of the cards in the market. So if you ever upgrade in the future your PSU will be enough.

But if you don't wanna spend that much right now then 400W PSU from Corair will also suffice.

hmmm i think i will go to ocz coz its 500w and i can afford it .... i have a 19 inch montitor so i dont need to go very high video card..... 5750 is enough for me so i need just a 500 or 550 watts ............................ by the way thanks for your help and to all people who post a comment on my thread thank you very much ^_^

for a 5750 they recommend 450w, but if you have a few hard drives, a decent motherboard and processor and case fans, and ram, this'll all add to your heat, which then adds to the wattage needed to keep everything cool. And then you've got your USB devices, which all run off the same PSU. I have a 4870 and they recommend a 550w, which I had and it blew. You're safer going for at least 100 - 150 watts more than you need to make sure that whatever you're running and other peripherals wont take too much juice at the same time the GPU kicks into overdrive. Trust me, if you go for a 500w PSU you'll regret not going to 600w in a few months or even next time you upgrade.

They recommend 450W PSU for the whole system. Card only takes around 110W at full load.

Even a 400W Corsair is enough for his RIG.

The 500W OCZ will be enough,no matter how many(A reasonable number) of fans or HD you put...

yeah as long as you have a lots of extra wire on your psu ... unlike to my generic i only have 1 extra 3pin for 120mm fan hehehe ^_^ ..... but im not a OC user i think 500w will be enough for me .... and im sure ocz is a good psu he wont let me down ^_^

The answer to your original question is the HEC and Coolermaster power supplies are not high quality psu's.

The general rule of thumb is a high quality 500 to 550 watt power supply with sufficient current (amps) on the +12 volt rail(s) can easily power a system with any single video card made.

A high quality 500 to 550 watt psu will have a +12 volt rail rated at 40 amps.

In addition the power supply should be at least 80+ Bronze certified for energy efficiency. There are some models available which have achieved 80+ Silver and 80+ Gold Certifications.

Corsair and Seasonic are two of the brands that have a reputation for high quality power supplies that consistently earn high marks in technical reviews. They are reliable, stable, and come with a 5 year warranty. Lately we've been seeing a few other brands offering some high quality units. One example would be the Antec Earthwatts series which is a major improvement over Antec’s older psu’s like the Basiq models.
