How do you figure that? nearly all tests I have seen show the 1060 faster than the 470

Dude those benchs are max framerates.maby someweher in games with lower details it beats the rx 470 and the max framerate in bench is higher but you will observe much more sluttering in gtx 1060 vs in rx 470 because rx470 is more powerful than gtx 1060. Also this clour compression thing is only something not trur. Because the samething nvidua claimed in gtx 960 128 bit. Witch i tested against old amd hd 7850. in various games the hd 7850 memory very outperform gtx 960 is noticeable in mortal kombat x in witcher 3 where videos are showing in prologue or where you win a stage too match slutter i gtx 960 while same place in game with hd 7850 run very fluently.because hd 7850 is 256 bit.
Check the specification o of both cards
Rx 470 is 256 bit while gtx 1060 is 192 bit
Rx 470 ha 2048 shading units and gtx 1060 have 1280 shading units.
