As CPUs, the i3 by a mile. The A8-7680 is only competitive with first generation i3 CPUs. By the time you get to Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge, Intel is clearly superior in most games.

However, that's as CPUs. If you plan on using integrated graphics, the APU does have some advantages there.
