So it turned out I could get a better build for around the price of the builds I posted.

Two people were kind enough to post a recommended build for me, which I am very grateful for.

Thanks Sangeet, I'll most likely be using your build now.
Thanks alot.

At the minute, my budget is around £250
Not much, I know :/

This is able to play minecraft at high enough settings I want and thats all I really need 😛

Will you need to record as well? As in are you making videos or just playing with friends?

Yeah, I'll be recording, these build are much better than my current pc and with this PC I can record at high enough fps with no lag so these should be able to handle it

For that price you can get a much better build for just 20 dollars more. It has a quad core AMD processor which is launched in 2013 and a much better 7750 graphics card, with a much better XFX PSU and a 1TB HDD. And all that for just 20 dollars more makes it a definite buy. Just go for this build blindly. I am sure you will be much more happy with this build. I am 100% sure in my claim.

There are quite a lot of flaws in that build.

1. The prices of your build are in US Dollars wheras he lives in the UK. There is quite large price difference between the prices of UK and USD. Building a same build in UK would cost 300+ pounds because of the price difference in the parts. The parts are quite expensive in the UK when compared to the US. So using PCPartpicker (US Version) is not at all useful. You should use the http://uk.pcpartpicker.com for suggesting a build for him.

2. The FX 4100 is not something which is recommended at all. It is based off on an old Bulldozer architecture wheras the new Athlon II X4 750K I suggested is based on Piledriver and is way better in performance for less price. If you do not believe me then check out the comparision between the two at http://cpuboss.com/cpus/AMD-FX-4100-vs-AMD-Athlon-X4-750k . So the 750K is a better deal.

3. The 550Ti is an 2 generation old card from Nvidia, which is easily outperformed by the 7750 easily. You can see the comparision between the two at http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-HD-7750-vs-GeForce-GTX-550-Ti

Just replying to sangeet. That ram i cannot recommend, you should go for at least dual channel.

Yes, i am aware that having a single channel memory decreases performance little bit. But if he goes for a 4GB stick then there would not be a problem upgrading to 8GB memory. It is just 18 pounds more for another 4GB in the future as compared to the 40 pounds for a new set of 2 4Gb sticks in the future. That is why i suggested a single 4GB stick. And it would not affect performance that much. Only a little bit decrease in performance which is barely noticable.

Ohnestly I would combine some of the parts. If you really want to weed out the best parts Gpuboss.com and cpuboss.com . No winner was decided between these GPU's, but i would prefer my corsaire psu to the xfx one. SO i would say take my build with his graphics card. Because 2 sticks are better than one even if they equal the same. Lets see what he has to say.

Sangeet is right, yours was in dollars, so the parts will cost a little more in pounds, so i'd have to go with sangeets as I know the exact price and wouldn't have to convent every price etc into my currency.

Change the thread type from "Discussion" to "Question", then you will see a button saying "Select this as the best answer" in every post. In that way you can select the answer as the best answer. I am not sure why you selected the thread type as "Discussion".

I am not sure how to change the thread type though. I don't know how to do that?
