I think most of us are =p still, rather that which is better I would look at is as a 4790k build is going to be cheaper and 6700k is going to cost more. I love my games but I've no need or reason to get two 980ti GPUs especially if I'm not doing a lot of video editing and graphical work. Hell my 970 FTW gets me 60+ frames in everything I play with like BF4, Diablo3 and SC3... GTA V even runs smoother than butter. A single 980ti should do you just fine and if you feel you need another for whatever reason, I'd get it after a month or so of test driving just the one.

Back to the CPU again, at this point the 6700k looks more towards future proofing your system as it uses DDR4 RAM and 4790k is more consumer friendly for a current market...

But is DDR4 really a limiting factor in PCs?

With 2 980 ti GPUs, I imagine this isn't just to game and there's probably a lot of editing going on, for work or fun. I have a 4790k and I have no issues with it, but if money is no issue why not get the newer/faster/better tech overall? Yes the 4790k has a higher clock, but I'm sure the DDR4 would pull its weight in editing and rendering too.

Performance from a gaming stand point would be comparable enough that it comes down to building how much you want to spend.
