Which is better for gaming ? (Laptop)
i7-7700 (hq or k) + GTX 1070
VS
i7-8700k + GTX 1060 ?

For gaming? The i7-7700 + 1070. No doubt about it.

Yep. 100% GTX 1070 is better.

Well... the 7700HQ is a laptop CPU... comparable in performance to a desktop i5 7400. Where as the 8700K is a desktop CPU.

Most certainly the 7700K with the 1070 would be the better gaming system. The CPUs in question are all capable of allowing upwards of a 1080 to hit its max potential, so it all comes down to the video cards.

Just make sure you invest in a cooling pad to put under it. The key thing is to get one that fits your laptop and has fans right under the laptop's intake vents. Some even have adjustable position fans though.
