Which is faster i7 640m or 720qm?

Hi I would like to know if which is faster for everyday tasks browsing email and playing a game minecraft? And Performance wise which one is better? Thank You

For everyday taks the 64m is faster as it has a much higher clock speed.
For minecraft that is more gpu specific. If the laptop does not have a dedicated gpu then you will not be able to play micecraft with integrated graphics.

Are these two different laptops you are looking at or trying to upgrade CPUs??
If trying to upgrade CPUs you need to do some research on your tower because many solder the cpu direct to the board and even if it is socketed you have a very limited number of cpus that the motherboard bios will support.
