Which is the best budget GPU for the price? And will any of the two be well supported for a long time?

I am on a budget currently and I am deciding on the GTX 950 Strix from Asus or the MSI GTX 960 2GD5T OC. And will the software be supported for awhile? Here is my build..


Motherboard ASRock H97 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

CPU Intel i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor

Memory Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Storage Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Video Card (GTX 950 or GTX 960)

Case Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case

Power Supply EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Coulda sworn saw the same build with the same question earlier today That one didn't list resolution either so I will assume 1080p

To my eyes the 950 makes the 960 irrelevant.

Odd pairing tho given the pricing

Not sure what you meant by "software"....if you mean drivers, new drivers come out frequently and you can d/l when they do or use GeForce Experience to do it for you.

The 960 is certainly the better card, but it's no where near 50% better to compensate for the 50% increase in price.
