I would disagree lol.. I have read that the xigmatek hdt-s1823 could beat the the Thermal Ultra Extreme.. I could be wrong.. ;)

Frostytech is the only site that has the Xigmatech beating the TRUE, let alone the TRUE finishing out of the top ten. I'll stick with the overwhelming majority.

The reason the TRUE did so bad at frostytech was that they did not lap it (which most kno is needed for it)....

The S1283 is a great cooler but the TRUE will win with the right fans

GEEZ! I still have my original ThermalRight Ultra 120 and as old as it is, it is still on the Intel and AMD lists.

I don't think a difference of 2 degrees Centigrade is anything to get excited about unless you are very hardcore gamer; into some very serious overclocking; with a case that has very bad ventilation, bad airflow, and bad cooling; and you're on the verge of frying the entire pc while trying to destroy alien invaders.

LOL.. If you live in a very hot humid climate like mine.. Every degree makes a difference..

Saw a user review comparing the IFX-14 and TRUE and it was weird....

I believe when 2 high CFM 38mm fans were used on the TRUE and 3 on the IFX, there was little difference. Almost negligible.
But put high CFM 38mmx140mm on the IFX and it will probably win

Heh.. Saw that cooler.. That's one hell of a cooler.. But the only downside to it.. Was that you needed to get separate fans.. Other than that.. That thing is Amazing..

Can't speak for the comparison as I do not own the TRUE, but lapping the Xiggy made a major performance improvement, I had compared its original performance to my lapped Tuniq Tower 120, and the unlapped Xiggy and the Lapped Tuniq were almost identical performance wise.

However after lapping the Xiggy and to be fair used the Tuniq 120 Fan for the comparison, the Xiggy bested the Tuniq by 5C under load, and that was a pleasant discovery.

Warning: Anyone considering lapping the Xiggy, only lapp to the depth of the deepest existing manufacturing scratches, as you can seriousl affect the strength of the cooling pipes if you cut too deep.
