So I am looking to upgrade my pc And have listed down the hardware.
I'd really appreciate if I get any help with this.
I am actually a casual gamer and rarely ever play competitive ones.
I am also not into video editing or any of that stuff.
I usually play games of all genre and occasionally play some old games (I've read somewhere that old games wont work on these new hardware so just mentioned it).
So I am looking at a Config. Which can handle all of these , with a higher priority to games releasing in future.
My budget is $2000 and can push it to about $ 2400 at max.
Here is what I am looking at :
(All the prices are coming at a discount)

1. CPU
Intel Core i7 7800X ($ 540) or Intel Core i7 9700K ($ 647)

Probably nothing better than these in that price range. The 8700K comes at the same price as the 9700K And the i9 9900K would be an overkill for a person like me.

2. GPU
ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 AMP 8GB GDDR6 ($ 835) or ZOTAC NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2070 8GB 256 Bit DDR6 ($ 744)

The cheapest option is the RTX 2060 but I'd prefer something which performs well in a long term scenario and doesnt still bottleneck in spite of this huge investment. The GTX 1080 as well as 1080 Ti cost around $ 900 so thats literally not even an option. The RTX 2080 is in the $ 1300-1600 range.

3.Monitor
Acer Predator 24' 1080P 144Hz TN Panel GSync ($ 488) or LG 24' 24UD58 4K 60Hz IPS Panel FreeSync ( $ 350)

I honestly have no idea in this case. I havent used either 144Hz or 4K. Which one should I be buying? There arent any 1440p 144Hz available at the moment and the 1440p 60Hz ones are more expensive than the 4K (as I mentioned 4K comes at a discounted price).

4. Would 16GB DDR4 RAM be enough?

Please help me with this.
Thank you in advance.

Casual gamer huh,

Go cheaper on the CPU a R5 2600x is more than enough and it has alot of upgradeablity. You now saved 400 dollar because the cooler comes with it. For casual gaming 1440p and 60Hz IPS is fare better than 144HZ. 16Gb ram is enough. Go for the 2080 or 2080ti.

This is probobly the best config for a non competitive gamer. I own the R5 2600x myself paired with a 2070 on 1440p it absolutely crushes every game and the CPU cannot bottleneck since the GPU is already hitting 100% because modern games use more graphical power instead of CPU.
