Which is the best high end Graphics Card Both from NVIdia And AMD for playing games at 1080p

Firstly dont start a war between NVIDIA and AMD.
They both are great Card Companies ok So stay out of the fanboyism or just ignore this thread.
I want to play most Graphicly demanded games at only 1080p.
I will neither go for a multi monitor nor 2k or 4k resolution.
so Which is the best graphics card both from nvidia and amd for having best 1080p highest settings gaming experience with smooth performance?

For Nvidia the GTX 970 and AMD the 280x. You can go 290 which will give you better performance, but the 280x is also sufficient for 1080p.

Th 290X is the AMD equivalent of the GTX 970. Both will do extremely well at 1080p.

Another thing to mention gtx 970 is a 3.5gb card,the additional 500mb is available but reaching to it will lower the performance.

Playing games at only 1080p with only single monitor of 60hz only
2x msaa and other settings to ultra high

given the above criteria how much maximum gpu ram will be used?

Currently the best single GPU card is the GeForce Titan X 12 GB, if you can afford it.

Next would be the GeForce GTX 980 followed by the GeForce GTX 970 and then the Radeon R9 290X.

As of right now, if you really want to play 1080p 60fps max graphics anything, and be future proof, your looking at at least an R9 290 or a GTX 970
Don't worry about the whole 3.5GB Vram thing on the 970, that only applies to resolutions with large frame buffers, which you will not be playing at.
