Dear friends,

I am currently using ASUS H81M-E motherboard with 4th generation intel core i3 processor installed in it. Also my PC has windows 7 SP1 installed in it. Problem is whenever I do multitasking like - downloading from sites, watching high definition video (anime/movies etc), wiping out hard disk space etc., my PC will shutdown automatically. It will not start for at least 10 minutes after shutdown. Sometimes my PC will automatically restart while downloading from sites or watching movies. Upon restart a message would appear on screen stating something like ,"my PC had to restart because of power/electric surges from power supply unit". At other times, my PC acts perfectly normal. Before asus motherboard I used intel motherboard with 1st generation intel core i3 processor but never faced such problems. I bought asus motherboard because I thought they are the best in the market.

After this asus motherboard dies completely, I am planning to buy a motherboard which will not force my PC to shutdown on multitasking or doing anything simple as watching a movie. So I kindly request to all to give your suggestions which brand of motherboard should I buy after my current motherboard dies out.

Thanks in advance.

I would want to know why the problem was occurring. What PSU do you have? something that worked in the past may have failed or be failing now.

As Zerk2012 says, Gigabyte makes a good budget product and theB85 series is intended for 8 hour a day business use, so is quite robust, if it has the features you want.

I am using ValueTop power supply made in china. Problem occurs whenever I do multitasking. If I watch hd/bluray rip movies/anime/drama, download files from sites and use word processor, all at the same time, my pc will either restart or undergo shutdown. Sometimes after restart my keyboard or mouse will not get any power then I switch off my ups, restart my pc after 10-15 minutes and then it works fine. Also, at some instances, my cpu will show the hard disk working but my monitor will remain blank. Whenever I do 3 or more tasks with my pc, it will either restart or shutdown completely. At rare occasions my pc will restart automatically when I am only watching hd/bluray rip movies/anime/drama.

Your suggestions are highly appreciable. Thanks in advance
